…This is my all time favorite Celt song. She is a Celt maiden awaiting for her love to return from battle and war. Something we will all have to probably face because the ‘powers that be’ love death. It’s sad. Anyway, hope you enjoy the wonderful video and the digi-art. I like to put these up, it eases my mind.
….I wish I was on yonder hill
‘Tis there I’d sit and cry my fill,
‘Til every tear would turn a mill
I’ll sell my rod, I’ll sell my reel,
I’ll sell my only spinning wheel,
To buy my love a sword of steel
Siuil, siuil, siul a run,
Siuil go sochair agus siuil go ciuin
Siuil go doras agus ealaigh lion
Is go dte tu mo mhuirnin slan
I’ll dye my petticoats, I’ll dye them red,
And ’round the world I’ll beg my bread,
Until my parents shall wish me dead.

Reblogged this on A Lot Of Coffee and Sleepless Nights.
Also like Judy Collins and Peter, Paul,Mary versions I first heard nearly 50 years ago.
