Damascus, Syria, Nov 30, 2012 / 02:05 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Two deadly car bombs that exploded in a Damascus suburb Nov. 28 killed at least 34 people and are terrorizing the Christian population, a local priest says.
Father Romualdo Fernandez, rector of the Damascene Shrine of the Conversion of St. Paul, told Fides news agency that the “massacre” has “spread terrible panic” and some schools report that half the teachers were absent the day after the attack.
“(W)hoever are the people behind the crime, if the aim was to terrorize the Christians, they are succeeding,” Fr. Fernandez said.
Two bombs exploded in the eastern suburb of Jaramana, a district loyal to Syria’s President Bashar Assad. The car bombs exploded within five minutes of each other in a parking lot between two commercial buildings, killing and wounding laborers and employees.
Most Americans have no idea about the different factions ( for lack of a better word) in Syria but feel compelled for some reason to pick a side. Sadly, I am as ignorant as the rest. But I do know a danger exists that America will intervene to oust a “dictator” and the result will be like Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Help me understand, ok? First off it is next to impossible (for me) to remember all the details and undertand who is doing what over in those murdering loving countries. Is it the Syrian leader who wants to gas the people with Sarin gas? Who is he wanting to gas? The people or the rebels? This has had me confused. The thought of gassing innocent people is horrible to me. I saw a video of two bunnies getting gassed and it was awful. To do that to another human being is horrible. Even Hitler did not use certain type gasses, so I have heard over the decades, don’t know if that is true or not. Please help me understand: who is wanting to gas who and for what reason?
