Excerpted from The Daily Mail: The mother of an American diplomat killed during a terrorist raid on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi has hit out at Barack Obama for describing the attack as ‘not optimal’, saying: ‘My son is not very optimal – he is also very dead.’ During an interview shown on Comedy Central, Obama responded to a question about his administration’s confused communication after the assault by saying: ‘If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.’ Speaking exclusively to MailOnline today, Pat Smith, whose son Sean died in the raid, said: ‘It was a disrespectful thing to say and I don’t think it’s right.
‘How can you say somebody being killed is not very optimal? I don’t think the President has the right idea of the English language.’

In an Oct. 11 inteview, Pat Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, a diplomat killed had said, “I cried on Obama’s shoulder, and then he looked off into the distance, so that’s kind of worthless.”
In Friday’s The Hill. John McCain said, “The ‘optimal’ line, of course, is very regrettable, and makes me a little sad. But for him [Obama] to say that every piece of information they got they laid out to the American people, it’s one of the most disingenuous statements I’ve ever heard. You really don’t have to be a CIA analyst or a station chief, to know an attack with mortars and rocket-propelled grenades, lasting for eight hours, is not a spontaneous demonstation,” McCain continued. “Frankly, I could see that myself as soon as the reports came in and the video came in. There’s two real aspects in this that we need to look at. One is leading up to the attack, and the intelligene failures there. and then, is either a cover-up or is gross incompetence following it… When [Obama talked about the terrorist attacks in the Rose Garden, clearly he was not talking that attack," McCain continued. "But leave that aside — why did he go on The View? Why did he go on Letterman? Why did he go on these other shows saying, we don't know yet. Of course we knew, and it's really an unacceptable situation, and the American people need the information about this, and it's clear there [are] a lot more layers to this onion.”
Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer says that Romney backed off when Obama declared himself offended that anyone in his administration would “mislead” the country on Libya. This helped Obama “slither out” of the Libya question. Krauthammer suggests for Monday: “You are offended by this accusation, Mr. President? The country is offended that your press secetatary, your UN ambassador, and you yourself have repeatedly misled the nation about the origin and nature of the Benghazi attack… .Why [was] more security denied our people in Libya despite the fact that they begged for it…”
