Well, looks like Pakistan has put its foot down after the brazen drone bombings of Pakistani territory, the deliberate, wilful murder of 24 Pakistani soldiers that had Pakistan close all roads for the US/NATO into Afghanistan, the accusations of supplying materials for Iran’s nuclear programme have driven Pakistan to seek cooperation with Russia.
A special envoy of the President of Russia visited Pakistan in May 2012. Putin himself accepted the invitation to come to Pakistan for a bilateral meeting in Islamabad, prior to the IV quadrilateral meeting on Afghanistan. The meeting is to be held in Islamabad on 26-27 September 2012 with the participation of Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Russia. A new strategic partnership is brewing in the region. In case of partnership with Pakistan, Russia could take control of the logistics of the US military bases in Afghanistan. Russia already controls the Northern Distribution Network in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan that border on Afghanistan. Add the southern routes from Karachi to Chaman and Torkham, then all deliveries will have to be coordinated through the Russian-Pakistani alliance.
If this scenario becomes reality, Russia will obtain enormous leverage over the United States. In one fell swoop, it will remove the Mideastern loop, which can not be tightened today just because of Iran. What is more, Russia will receive access to the Indian Ocean through the Arabian Sea and the ports of Gwadar or Karachi and then to the Strait of Hormuz, bypassing the alliance with Iran, which is not beneficial for Russia now.
Oh, did I tell you the Chinese are building a port in Gwadar for Pakistan? And that China had repeatedly warned the US that any attack on Pakistan would be considered an attack on China?
Didn’t any Human Relations pundits convince the Psychopath in the Pentagon and in the WH about Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends and Influence People?”
I think he really wants to be the one that does it. There’s been a number of presidents who salivated over doing so…
I also feel that there will be circumstances that are beyond his scope… Beyond his ability to make those decisions…
But really, it’s not Bwak! who will make this call, when it is to be made… None of his decisions have really been his own. His only real motivation in life is hot sweaty one-on-ones with Reggie.
It’s his controllers who will drop the hammer, and even they are out of their league, it would appear…
As well, their way is not to hit the public hard with heavy things like the threat of going to camps and the like… Their way is to turn up the heat slowly. Taking our rights one or two at a time. They’re nearly there already.
