I must be ignorant. Why don’t they just live their lives and let us live ours? Isn’t it just that simple? Do we have to applaud their “gayness”?

I’ve worked with a couple of them when I was working with lawyers; and NOT one time did the subject matter EVER come up.
Me too. I was in show biz (theater) they never talked about it. Just like we dont talk about our sex lives.
