I’m remembering summer as a kid. I never really felt ‘hot.’ I played a mean game of baseball, I was the pitcher and I could run like the wind. We went swimming in our pool in the backyard–all of the kids would come to swim in our pool. We lived a mile from the dunes on Long Island, so we would go to the ocean and pray for a blue-flag day where the waves are huge. Tiana Bay was 3 houses away, we would walk there and pick up sea-shells (Gods grand work of art). The sunrise and sunset were beautiful, like a dream. America was a nice place back then.

Hope ya ‘all are having a decent summer.

Gorgeous pic, MJ.
The Danleers! And “There’s a moon out tonight”—5 satins, I think.
Those sure were innocent times. Cruising in Chevy’s. We used to park in a cemetery. Who’d bother you?
Or going to drive in movies. Esp nice in the dead of winter. You had to snuggle.
Who’d want to go to a drive in now? You’d have to be armed. Ferals would be leaping from car hood to car hood, making noise.

But, my husband LOVES all of the 1950′s songs. Everything in my home is 50′s

I just figured out what a liberal is. [I probably got this elsewhere.]
A gang of ferals attacks a liberal. They kick his ribs in; breaks his teeth; strip him of clothing, wallet, and of course cell phone; stab him in the neck 4 times; and carve “Kill Whitey” on his chest.
A guy runs over to help, and sees the gang running away. In his shock and rage, he yells, “NIGGERS!”
In his last seconds of life, the liberal cops a smug look and says, “Racist!”
That’s a liberal. Words are more important than what’s going on. Ideas are more important than practical actions. Visions are more important than outcomes. If you don’t like the outcomes of your actions, change the wording.
So, liberalism is truly a disease of the intellect, with suicidal consequences.
“I’m not falling from a 30 story building, I’m liberated from the oppression of bricks and mortar.”
Oh, yeah? Well, splat you!
