A NORMAL Parent Is Not A “Friend”
One time I told my Nana; “You’re my friend.” My Nana said; “I will never be your ‘friend’. I am your Grandmother.” Too many times, and it seems more and more Americans want to be ‘friends’ with their children. We need more parents that will discipline their kids. If a child is not disciplined, that child will grow up to be a problem. So, do NOT feel guilty when you must reprimand your children.

Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

MJ, I don’t see why Mothers want to be “friends” with their children. You lose that special bond between mother and child and that is too precious to lose.
Muse, so many Moms and Dads do that now, its leftist shit
MJ, I loved and respected her too much to treat her as a friend. Friends come and go Mom’s are in your heart forever.
Amen, Muse, amen
MJ, Love them while we have them.

Damned straight. I raised three of my nieces after my sister passed on twenty years ago. About eight years ago, when visiting my now grown up niece, she said to me, “Auntie, hang out with me and my friends in the livingroom and let’s get drunk together.” or whatever these young duds say these days. My response to her was “Nope. I raised you guys. My job is to set you straight not to ‘hang with you guys and THAT is a line that cannot be crossed.’” My brother on the other hand, “hangs” and when the younger ones get their arse on their shoulders, they do not waste a moment to disrespect him something they would never dare to try with me.
When he came to me complaining, I told him that this is because he “gets down in the mud with them” and therein lies the problem.
Great post.
A Holy God does not “hang out” with His hopeless buddies; a Holy God appoints parents to raise children in like manner.
It is a most serious matter with terrible results when parents try to cross the line and become pals with their offspring.
Children will never understand their role in growing up if they lose trust in Godly appointed authority.
Thank you byDesign001 for your example in raising your niece and to our Mad Jewess for posting. Also I offer my special prayers to Donna at this time of need.
Ty very much
