These elderly people went through 10 years of depression, they then went into WW2 and saved the world only to be taken care of by these 3rd world scum that hate their guts?!
How in the frick will families know what to look for if you DON’T point out COLOR, now that Obama has CHANGED it all???!!!

This is why I support Nursing Homes that cater to specific ethnicities and are staffed by certain ethnicities. BLack people should have a right to their own nursing homes, so should whites, hispanics and asians. Or some people like to be more religious-conscious than ethnic-conscious and so if mormons want their own nursing homes or if jews, evangelical christians, hindus, or buddhists want their own nursing homes to be around people of the same faith they certainly deserve that right.

I think buddhists are looked after by the Sangha where there is a Buddhist temple. It is one of the principal duties of Buddhism.

Haverford nursing home loses license over elder abuse
The family of Lois McAllister, a 78-year-old dementia patient, used a hidden camera to catch nursing-home workers physically abusing her, making her stand partially naked in front of them, and taunting her when they visited her room in late March.

The lawsuit was filed by a family against the Retama Manor Nursing Center. The nursing home victim died in 2007 after being treated for bedsores (pressure ulcers) that had gone untreated by the nursing home staff. Bedsores are skin lesions caused by constant pressure on bony areas of the body—these damaging ulcers are almost always preventable when care is consistent and proper. However, when nursing home residents are not moved frequently and have poor nutrition and hydration, the sores are quicker to develop.
Even more, the family discovered that the employees of the nursing home falsified medical records to make it seem as if their family member had been checked on more than he actually was. It was also claimed that the victim was suffering from malnutrition and dehydration while supposedly being cared for by nursing home staff members. All of the negligent care was due in large part to the understaffing at the facility, caused by the owner’s drive for maximized profits.

$7.75 Million Awarded in Elderly Abuse Case
A jury awarded $7.75 million to the family of a 71-year-old stroke victim who filed an elder abuse lawsuit against his nursing home. The trial featured a secret videotape of the woman being abused. The nursing home abuse lasted 22 days. The jury deliberated for two days before announcing the $7.75 million dollar nursing home abuse verdict, $5 million of which were in actual damages. The 71 year old was a resident at the center and family members noticed during a visit that she was bruised. They complained to the facility, but the nursing home failed to investigate. The family then set up a video camera on a side table in her room to do their own investigation. The video tape caught an employee slapping the victim, puller her around by the hair, bending her neck, fingers and wrists and treating her violently in a shower chair.

My mom was in a nursing home. I don’t think she was physically abused, but the untrained, minimum-wage staff stole everything they could get their hands on, so you couldn’t bring anything nice. Then, my mom’s walker and wheelchair (provided by me) disappeared. Also, they falsified reports and scammed Medicare. A couple of days after I had just been to see my mom, the nurse called and asked for my permission for surgery on my mom. They said she had a bad skin cancer on her face. What? I had seen no such thing. I told them, “NO!” Then, I got in my car and drove 50 miles to the facility. I looked carefully at my mom’s face; she said there was nothing wrong. I talked to other employees, who said they had seen nothing on her face. I went to the nurse’s station and asked to see her chart. They had written in the chart that she had skin cancer, I had APPROVED the surgery, and they had scheduled it at a local hospital. They also routinely had a clinic staff member come to “trim residents’ toenails,” but they scoured the ICD-9 Codebook and billed Medicare for expensive podiatric procedures. And this was one of the better nursing homes. Geez, I hope I never end up in one of those places. I’d rather go play on the freeway.
I used to visit some people in a nursing home and they complained of minority staff stealing their money. The residents couldn’t leave change or valuables in their drawers or anywhere else — it would disappear. If they complained to the people in charge, they’d be written off as just having forgotten where they left the money. Of course, the residents didn’t help their case any by routinely speaking in the most offensive racial epithets. But I don’t doubt the truth of their complaints.
A few times a month, I sing for elderly.
I love it, the best ppl in the world.
