Margaret Thatcher is a truly odious figure who destroyed whole communities by her policies. She literally tore apart lots of communities in the North, accentuating the North/South divide and creating millions of jobless towns when whole industries were smashed. She did so with the utmost serenity, bereft of an iota of doubt. A large number of people in the North will never vote conservative again because of what she did.
