@ JWN The problem with us is that we are smart people who do not know our own history & thus, make foolish choices. Every nation which has given us haven after some tragedy such as the Spanish Inquisition (remember that Spain was itself a haven for us) or the US after the Holocaust has ended by hating us. Why? The first generation comes to the new land poor & uneducated wanting nothing more than shelter, food & the right to worship. I call that generation “Moshe”. The next generation comes along & is educated in the new country, learns the language, finds jobs their parents could not even dream of having. I call this generation “Menachem turned into Marvin”. They keep the religion as long as it does not interfere with their jobs or new found acceptance into society (read that as being non-Jewish society). They married Jews, for the most part & kept some bit of tradition, especially as long as their parents were alive. Then came the “Michael” generation (my parents). They had English (or German or Spanish etc) names from birth , Mercedes, Mystic etc.(Ask most people born in the baby boom generation or after if they know their Hebrew name.). They paid lip service to traditions & few kept the Sabbath or holy days. A great number inter-married & they sought greater acceptance into non-Jewish society, the highest realms being academia & politics. The problem in this is that they denied what their soul required, G-d. So, they become part of a religion known as Statism. The highest Statist (Obama, in this case) became their god & their commandments were the policies of the left, homosexuality, abortion, atheism & moral relativism. The fake god, Obama, realizing that Jews are smart, just as Achashvarus did in Persia, surrounded himself with these Statist Jews. They bow down to Obama & when the time comes for America to wake up, it is the Emmanuels & Axelrods to whom they will look to blame. And rightly so. So, what is different about this generation? More and more Jews are seeking to find out about their heritage, learning to love the sanctity of the Sabbath and other laws & exploring Israel. This time, when “da’ revolution” comes, we have our own country in which to find haven. I recommend every Jew obtain duel citizenship while they can.
I can’t say that America is doomed because I love her, but it troubles me greatly to see these Statist Jews around the false god, bowing & scraping & committing untold horrors to this beautiful land which gave us a generation steeped in Judaism which in the 1950s was thought to be a dead religion. There are more Yeshivas, more observant Jews, more Jews seeking who they are than ever before in our history. This is a good thing. But please, I came to Israel to escape the Emmanuels of the world. Send him to Chicago, but keep him out of Israel. We have enough problems here.
