*************Now, come on people, IF this were true, he would never win a seat, Please explain to me why Obama gets a pass? I want a strong SOLID argument, but I will tell you, there is NO argument. Racism is racism.

U know what Steve, I was NEVER, never, Never like this before, but when this crap comes AT YOU, you just wake up. I have been a victim of racial discrimination for YEARS. I am super-white. I have sat in cafeterias at Corporate Finance (places of my employment) I have sat there while they ramble on and on about how ‘evil’ WHITE people are. I am sitting RIGHT THERE. They dont give a damn, it is BECAUSE of people like Hippy Professor, Rutherford, Ben Hoffman, ETC. These people have CREATED this hell for us.

So true, MJ. I wasn’t like this either. I am just glad that one of our own people is taking up for this cause. Someone had to do this, I am glad that you did. I’m with you, every step of the way.

Great post, madjewess. The point has to be made that it is not about color, but about love of country. How do you bring people together? By minimizing those differences. It is pretty crazy that directly after 9/11 we were not white, black, yellow, red, ect. We were all Americans. It is pretty sad to have to have a tragedy to understand that we can be a melting pot, you must agree.
I think Obama is so steeped in his radical theology he doesn’t even know when he drops the ball. He tries his best to be a uniter, but it is not his belief.

Well I would beg to differ that I have created any sort of hell for you.
At its basic principle, I completely agree with you. Prejudice is prejudice, not to be tolerated from any source.
However MJ, I think you are ignoring the potential conflicts that arise in a bi-racial person in a society that historically has discriminated against part of who he is.
It might make you uncomfortable but I would understand the words of Obama coming from … Obama… or coming from a fair skinned man with a black grandmother (as in the scenario you suggested).
I sense you have given up on the possibility of improved race relations. I hope that is not true.
I helped bi-racial, blacks and Mexicans with jobs all throughtout the 80′s and 90′s. However, they deal with very LITTLE racism and ‘hate’ compared to WHITE people and native Americancs.

Well now you have me puzzled on two counts. First, you really feel that white people encounter more racism than blacks and Mexicans? I don’t even know where to start with that.
But all the more puzzling is that you lump whites with Native Americans. Over at my place you took a shot at my “elementary school education” but I did learn back then that the Native Americans were here first and WHITES displaced them. So you get no argument from me on Native Americans encountering racism … but if anything whites were their persecutors, not their brothers in oppression.
Those days are over. America has catered to blacks and Mexicans.
