Miss MJ, I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now, and enjoy (and agree with you on most things) but… I have to wonder… do you know where the ‘Battle Hymn of the Republic’ comes from? It’s probably the worst song written for our churches… that is… if you know the symbolism behind it.
The entire song is really about the abolitionist “hero” John Brown, you know that nut who hacked to pieces 5 innocent Southerners. It also glorifies centralized government those leftists are for.
John Brown’s victims:
‘ The first three of his victims, James P. Doyle and his sons, Drury and William, were Catholics from Tennessee who moved to Kansas to get away from slavery. They never had a thing to do with the institution. But because they spoke with a Southern drawl, and possibly because they were Catholic, Brown marched them to a clearing where their heads were split open with the sharpened swords.
