I hadn’t noticed before, but now I do. This is a racially-biased magazine. Last night, I was at my friends apt, she happens to be an American that is black, she had Ebony Magazine, she is also a conservative, and a sweetheart. She pointed out to ME this racist magazine that is out there and is only for black people. I didn’t really care one way or the other, but SHE DID.
My friends name is ‘Cleo’. She told me that all of her life, she had racism against white people, and fought it off, I told ‘Cleo’ that we are ALL like that, but she insisted that it was not the white folks that are the ‘racists’ it is the black people.
I just shut up. It was ‘confession time’ for Cleo. She admitted that when in school, (she is LOT younger than me) they teach the kids that white people have ‘oppressed’ black people and brown people (Mexicans.) I asked her if they taught that the North fought to save the Union and that we were abolishonists… She said she remembered vagely, but refrained that by the most part, she was told that ‘most white people hate black people.’

Amazing… Amazing.. You see, up North, we are FORBIDDEN racism in most households, and the truth is, in the south it is the same now. Its just a fact, so the ‘race-card’ is just BS.
“Cleo” asked me if there was a magazine that was white people only. I said no, because I have not seen ONE in America. She told me, I know, because ‘it’s not allowed, but only for black people.’, and THAT is WHY it is racist, she told me.
WHY IS THIS? WHY is this OK?
I looked at Ebony, and indeed, it is very classy, and nice, but…. isn’t this what was fought against? Segregation?
Well, here’s MY thoughts… I think it is fine and dandy, but don’t get your nose in the grind if white folks DO make their OWN magazine, after all, it is now black people that have segregated THEMSELVES and NOT the vc. versa., and I don’t disagree……. It is NATURAL and human nature to hang with people that are your color, so it does not bother me, if they choose to ‘segregate’- but lets see the OBVIOUS…the ‘racism’ IS against WHITE people now….

Years ago, there was a need for black magazines since blacks were basically ignored. Now, there is no need for it. Although Essence does feature there token white model or journalist, they really need to get with the 21st century. Racism goes both ways.
I also agree with your friend about schools. They covertly teach that whites are evil. I teach at the hs level and you would not believe how shocked students were to find out that Africans played a role in the slave trade.

Well, I think that it is natural to just hang with people that are like you, or look like you. Its just human nature, you know? I have a lot of friends of all diff. races, b/c thats me. But, I see where my friend is coming from, and racism is bigtime in America- it is now against whites, and the hatred they teach in schools is somethng that has to be stopped. After all, it was white peoples forefathers that fought and died for the most part.
The racism would be stopped if it was directed at blacks, and it should be.
The problem I have most of the time is illegal people taking jobs from AMERICAS, black AND white, THAT drives me the MOST insane.
I am consistently trying to get a balance. Like I am NOT ‘partial’ to liberal Jews- they act like asholes- power mad slobs, and I always try to put this behavior down, but people will still look at ME, b/c of these filthy liars and say: She is just a JEW. (To me)

Please note that the Ebony magazine cover title is “Black is back” not “Black is Black.” The irony is that most of the people on the cover are not really black-skinned. In its attempt to create a positive image of Afroism, the magazine weakly tries to convince its readers that their skin color is “back” and “cool.” This is adolescent, even childish. The day will dawn, in some far-distant future, when our African brothers will exhibit their fine minds in a mature fashion, not as 15-year olds who wear sunglasses.

Hell, if we didn’t have our own form of media as such, we wouldn’t know that african amercians are succeeding and accomplishing just as much as anybody else. For one reason or another, back then, we weren’t getting the attention and praise for our good work like others.
