I urge you to read the last bullet, for June 10, in THIS report.  Note the sentence, from former chief of the Indian army, “Hitherto, the Indian defence establishment’s focus has been on Pakistan but there is a growing realization that we cannot ignore China’s growing military might and its ability to move troops and equipment…”  IMO, this is a major development.  There is a history of tension in that area on their border.  China’s assertiveness and aggression are expanding with her military growth.  India has become a strong ally in the region and necessary to help in containing China.  The “string of pearls” strategy being pursued by China, to establish friendly ports between China and the Middle East, is also, IMO, envisioned to choke India from the sea in the event of a major conflict.
